Adding and Using Clients
What a "client" is
A Client is one of the downstream customers you provide monitoring for. Clients let you group your monitored assets by who they belong to, then give each one its own branded status page and reports — instead of a flat list of domains with no owner. If you run monitoring for several businesses, one Client per business keeps everything organized.
Adding a client
Go to Clients → New client and fill in:
- Name (required) — e.g.
Acme Corp. A URL-friendly slug is generated from the name automatically. - Logo URL (optional) — used to brand the client's status page and reports.
- Brand colour (optional) — a hex colour (e.g.
#2563eb) used as the accent on their status page and reports.
Save, and the client appears in your Clients grid with its branding swatch.
Attaching assets to a client
Assets (the domains/endpoints you monitor) can be grouped under a client. The fastest path is from the client's status page: open Status Pages, create or open the page for this client, and in the Components card use "Add all N of this client's assets". You can also set a client on an asset from the asset's detail view.
What each client gives you
- A status page — a public, branded uptime page for that client (see "How to Set Up a Status Page"). The client detail view links straight to it (or offers to create one).
- Client reports — generate a PDF health/uptime report for the client on demand (Generate report now), and review past reports under Report history.
- Report subscribers — add the client's email(s) so they receive the report automatically; manage the list from the client detail view.
- Compliance sharing — share a compliance view with the client where applicable.
Tips
- Use the same client name your customer recognizes — it appears on their status page and reports.
- Branding (logo + colour) is optional but makes the shared status page and reports look like they come from you / the client, not a generic tool.
- Removing a client does not delete the underlying assets or their monitoring — it only removes the grouping.
